james curd ft. likasto - ride my donkey kong
Self professed synth collector, die-hard skateboarder, lover of basketball and burger connoisseur, Chicago native James Curd embodies the versatile music producer of 2016. With a resume boasting world travelling DJ, music supervisor and movie score composer, it is still in the role of music production that James Curd excels, and with a running discography of over 300 songs inside a career spanning over 10 years, 2016 looks to be a red letter year for the dance music super-producer. From DJing around the world at Fabric in London, Avalon in Los Angeles, Home in Sydney to festivals including Lollapalooza In Chicago and T In The Park in Scotland, the man continues to be a music making machine: releasing solo tracks, remixing and working under various band names including "Greenskeepers" and "Favored Nations". His music has also been featured in a comprehensive list of music compilations, on T.V., and in film and video games, also working behind the scenes in film as a music supervisor as well as creating original music and score.
Recent releases include EPs for TRAX, Pintea Beat and Sweat It Out (with the original master of ghetto house DJ Deeon), and a song with Turbotito (Poolside) on Eskimo's new 'Yellow Collection' compilation. While upcoming is are EPs for TSuba, Exploited, and a full album on Lee Floss of Hot Creations' new label Repopulate Mars. While his new single for Onelove cub imprint CLUB LOVE sees him re-unite with frequent collaborator Likasto for the cheeky homage to video games "Ride My Donkey Kong".
